Copacol attains historical performance in swine fattening

A Empresa

According to the data of the cooperative, the aspect of feed conversion adjusted for 100 kg of live weight attained 1,779. Even the adjusted feed conversion of carcasses attained 2,472. According to the Manager of Integration of Swine and Milk of Copacol, Émerson Paulo De Bastiani, the batch also showed results expressed on the other aspects.

To De Bastiani, a sum of factors made it possible to attain these figures “I believe that attaining such performance, which is compared to poultry performance, is multi-factorial. We cannot quote one or other factor as the main one. It’s a sum. In my view, it is essential to have well harmonized grounds in swine production: good nutrition, good genetics, ambience, technical team and health management, to make it happen,” he said.
The way of working of the cooperative is with sexed animals, using immuno-castration, with ractopamine. According to the Manager, there is no knowledge of similar results to those of Copacol in any other integrator in Brazil. “At that level of feed conversion, I have never seen a similar result. Therefore, our partners have awarded us with the title of better performing fattening batch in Brazil,” he said with pride of the teamwork.
TECTRON has been a partner of Copacol since 2006, and provides nutrition for one of the cooperative’s UPL and for all the fattening stages. “I’d define Tectron as an innovative company, which seeks what is available today in the world to maximize performance. It is an essential company, since it brings us the newest and best for swine to express all their potential,” he points out.
The performance record was presented to the audience during the 1st Workshop on Swine Production of Tectron, at a lecture chaired by De Bastiani, on October 6, in Toledo (PR). In that occasion, he showed the zoo-technical result, the structures of the cooperative, the work developed and the challenged to be faced.
As recognition to the cooperative for the result, the president of TECTRON, Daniel Pigatto Monteiro, took advantage of the event to award De Bastiani and the head of the integration, Irineu Dantes Peron, with a plaque showing the data of historical performance engraved, and to wish for a long partnership.
Attaining excellent results doesn’t mean the work is concluded. The cooperative's goal, according to De Bastiani, is to produce 50 thousand swine heads per month as from 2022, which is aligned to the Strategic Purpose of Copacol and to the programmed growth of Frimesa central.
